Ending 2020 with Yet Another Goal; To Make it Better

Perhaps it’s fate that there are 42 days until January 1st, 2021. Since this is the answer to the Universe, I believe it is time to end 2020 in a spectacular fashion. And although my past goals have all fell apart, I’m going to try this fitness thing again.

There’s no doubt that a lot of people view 2020 as perhaps one of the worst moments in recent history. But that doesn’t mean we can’t end it better than the year started.

20+ Pounds in 6 Weeks?

One of my goals is to lose the last 20 or so pounds to reach my preferred weight. Well, that is until I see where I am. I’ve never seen myself below 205 pounds as an adult, so I’m not sure if I’ll have to lose more or add some muscle mass.

It all really depends. But one thing is for certain…I still have a bit of fat to melt through.

Statistically speaking, I can lose about 3.5 pounds per week just by reducing my intake. I know this because I’ve done it many times before, and this is my overall average. To hit 200 before the end of the year, I need to lose 4.3 pounds per week.

For me, that’s pushing it a bit hard. After all, I don’t want to lose muscle mass in the process. And with two holidays to go, I really don’t want to miss out on all the goodies.

This means I’ll have to be far more active than I have been.

What’s the Plan, Man?

First of all, I know my Net 600 Calorie Diet works for me. I’ve lost a huge portion of the last 80 pounds because of it. I just need to hunker down and quit snacking at night or find better ways to adapt to stress.

Because I am a stress eater. And 2020 has been a hell of a year in a multitude of ways.

Secondly, I really need to get back into the case studies for myself. I tend to focus better when I am working towards an end goal in terms of collecting data.

For example, this week, I’m working on collecting data for next Friday’s blog post.

And Third, I want to see how many personal records I can break before the end of the year. This means I’ll have to see what I can do this weekend to set a baseline.

How many push-ups can I do in a row today versus what I can do after 6 weeks? Stuff like that.

Starting Off with Good Intentions

I always start off my goals feeling inspired and ready to take action. But something happens after about the third day, and I wind up not caring. I’m still working on trying to reclaim passion…for anything.

I need to find a way to throw myself into something again. Perhaps I’m just worried that if I do, It’ll fall apart like my business did back in 2011.

Well, I guess I do have a passion for being a freelance writer. But that’s about it.

And I look back at all the times I said, “this time will be different” and wonder why I can’t commit. Perhaps I never fully recovered from past issues and am just afraid to lose myself in something again.

2020 Will Not Beat Me

This time, though, I have the intention of not letting this year hold me back. In truth, a lot of things I’ve done this year have set incredible records. Aside from this blog, which Google pummeled into dust, all of my sites have shattered visitor records.

In fact, WriterSanctuary.com has more than doubled its traffic, and the year isn’t over.

I know that’s not much, but it’s still a victory.

There are six weeks left in the year. I’m going to make them the best I’ve had in decades!
