Did you know that we have a podcast on Spotify? Fitness in Theory is recorded live on our YouTube channel every Tuesday night at 7 pm Mountain Time and then uploaded to Spotify on Wednesdays. Stop by and be a part of the show!
Fitness in Theory (FiT) is a podcast that we created to talk about losing weight, health, and fitness from the perspective of the average 40+ adult. We talk about everything from the difficulty of our personal eating disorders to what has worked the best for us over the years.
Yes, we often talk about our failures and successes. Not everyone has a positive experience with health and fitness.
Why Fitness in Theory?
The title of the podcast is actually a bit of a joke. Theoretically, we know what we need to do to lose weight and be fit. But in practice, we often struggle with a myriad of mental and physical issues.
The idea is to let others know that they are not alone when it comes to mental problems, a lack of motivation, and other hangups while trying to be “fit.”
The shows are recorded live from our YouTube channel at 7 pm MTN on Tuesdays. We often interact with viewers while answering questions and focusing on making each episode as fun as possible, regardless of the topic.
If you want to see the show live or want to chat with us while we record the episode, feel free to join us on YouTube.
Here are the most recent uploads of the show. Enjoy!

- Fitness in Theory – Episode 27: Alternatives to Gym EquipmentWhat if there is equipment at the gym that you love to use but it seems everyone and their dog is working out that day? You could stand in line, or you can find an alternative to the exercise.
- Fitness in Theory – Episode 26: Don’t Use the BMI ScaleThe BMI scale, or Body Mass Index, is a completely flawed method for tracking personal physique. In reality, what we eat can make a profound impact on how we feel outside of packing on the pounds. - Fitness in Theory – Episode 24: AI Health “Professionals?”Has the use of artificial intelligence gone too far in some cases? There is no doubt that AI has made quite an impact across the globe lately. But is it right for health and fitness advice?
Keeping Ourselves Accountable
One of the ideas behind the FiT podcast was to find a way to hold ourselves accountable. By being more open and honest in a social environment, perhaps it can fuel motivation. After all, no one wants to look like a fool in public…right?
We also love to hear about the success of others and what works best for them. It’s the social engagement that drives us to continue.
In the end, accountability plays a major role in success. When it comes to health and fitness, you don’t have anyone cracking the whip for you to succeed. It really comes down to finding ways to motivate yourself. In this case, we use the podcast to drive some of that motivation.
Where Can You Listen to Fitness in Theory?
Currently, the podcast is only available on Anchor and Spotify. However, I am working to have it included on other platforms as well. If you have one, in particular, that you like most, feel free to join us during the live recording and let us know.
We love interacting with our audience.
