To wrap up 2024, we’re working on losing 20 pounds by Christmas. For me, it’s about giving myself a Christmas present beyond just simple weight loss. I’m also working on mental health to end the year.
This challenge is going to be somewhat similar to the weight loss challenges I’ve tried in the past. However, there is more of a mental aspect to help me get back into a positive headspace before the start of the new year.
As you guessed it, I am using a spreadsheet for the Christmas 20.
The Progress of the Christmas 20
This challenge is relatively simple; keep the calories green according to my Net 600 Calorie Diet and get more exercise. Of course, I’m also working on ways to de-stress and relax, especially since my house is going to be full of people for the holidays.
Nonetheless, I’ll keep weekly records of my progress, a few photos, and share what accomplishments I’ve made during the 7-week fitness challenge.
The Spreadsheet
Days that are highlighted in green are days that I kept to my Net 600 diet. The days in yellow are when I missed the calorie goal. The days that are just in white (or the spreadsheet’s default color) are estimations based on previous averages. It’s mostly for tracking and motivational purposes.
The Weekly Updates
- Starting the Christmas 20 Today – Let’s Do This!I am starting the 7-week challenge of losing 20 pounds by Christmas. Initially, I wanted to be below 220 pounds by Christmas Eve. Unfortunately, I gained a bit more over the past three weeks than I wanted.
Above are the weekly updates. They are a breakdown of how I succeeded or failed at the challenge and what I can do to get or keep on track. I might also share a few sidequests here and there depending on the week.
Results of the Christmas 20 Challenge
As this challenge is currently ongoing, I don’t have results to share. However, I will break down eating and exercise routines so that you can try a seven-week challenge of your own, should you like.
Just keep in mind what works for one person, may not work for another. We are all unique, and nothing is truly guaranteed when it comes to health and fitness. Those who claim otherwise are just trying to make a buck off of you.
Try things for yourself and determine what methods are best in your situation. As long as you approach everything with an open mind, you might find something that works awesomely for you.
Becoming the Best Version of Yourself
Doing this particular challenge is more than just being under 220 pounds by Christmas Eve. It’s about becoming the best version of myself from both a physical and mental standpoint. And completing a challenge for once is the best Christmas present I can give to myself.
Whether you want to be more fit or simply want to be happy, there are all kinds of ways to challenge yourself to succeed. It all comes down to working on the best version of yourself. I’m constantly in a state of growth, and the positive things that have happened because of it have been astounding. But that’s what happens when you keep yourself positive while working on self-improvement.
The opportunities are great, as long as you’re willing to see them.
