I am a big fan of anything peanut butter. In fact, I’m constantly on the lookout for a decent, low-carb peanut butter ice cream. So, when I saw Quest had a peanut butter cookie available that is keto-friendly, I decided to give it a shot.

And overall, it’s really not all that bad of a treat. Especially if you’re trying to keep the carbs low or on the keto diet.

What is the Quest Peanut Butter Cookie?

The Quest peanut butter chocolate chip cookie is a fairly large cookie that is tailored for those on specific diets or exercise routines. It’s marketed as a “protein” cookie while maintaining a low level of carbs compared to alternative treats.

Mixed with peanut butter, chocolate chips, and peanuts, the Quest cookie provides what’s needed to satisfy cravings while being health-minded.

And in my experience, it’s an easy snack that is more filling than I’d thought it would be.

What Can You Expect from the Quest Peanut Butter Cookie?

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this product. I’ve had some pretty bland and tasteless treats recently, and I wasn’t really holding my breath.

However, the cookie had a lot more going for it than I thought.

Decent Enough Taste without Sugar

Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Cookie

The hardest part about finding a good, sweet snack in the health food aisle is that most avoid using sugar. So, it takes away quite a bit of the taste when looking for snacking alternatives.

But, the Quest protein cookie held a decent enough taste overall, especially when it came to the peanut butter. For some reason, not all manufacturers can manage using good peanut butter in their products.

When it came to taste, I was quite impressed.

Curbs the Cravings

I don’t know if it’s the taste or the sheer size of the cookie, but the Quest peanut butter chocolate chip cookie does a good job of satisfying my sugar cravings. This is vital as I’m still trying to maintain a proper keto diet.

Just a single cookie and I am good to go. I’m guessing it has a lot to do with the size. After all, it’s a fairly large cookie for what you get.

In either case, I don’t feel like I have to snack afterward, which is great. I am one of those people who have a hard time with midnight munching. One of these keeps me from overeating.

Nice Chunks of Peanuts in the Mix

Not only is the Quest protein cookie loaded with peanut butter, but it also has chunks of peanuts. Personally, I’m a fan of peanuts in general, so this keto snack checks all the right boxes for me.

Coincidently, the chocolate chips don’t taste that bad and are plentiful as well. I was quite surprised that the cookie wasn’t higher in sugars or calories.

Because I can wreck a box of chocolate chip peanut butter cookies from Walmart. But, this Quest product is nearly three times as thick for fewer calories.

Decent Calories for the Size

Speaking of calories, the Quest peanut butter cookie has about 220 in a single serving. So, it’s a bit higher than some of the other keto snacks I’ve had recently.

However, the size and taste are well worth it.

I could go with a keto trail mix for around 190 calories total. But, it would be about one-fifth of the size of this snack.

Only 5g of Net Carbs in the Quest Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie

If you’re keeping track of net carbs, this snack has just 5g total. This means it falls in line great for low-carb and keto-style diet plans.

Although the total on the package states 21g of carbohydrates, 11g of it is fiber and 5g is from the erythritol sugar alcohol.

A Bit on the Expensive Side for a Snack

Now comes one of the major downsides for me. The Quest peanut butter chocolate chip cookie is a bit on the expensive side when you compare it per serving.

It comes down to about $1.62 per snack if you buy it from Amazon in bulk. But if you grab one at the grocery store, expect to pay more than $2.50.

It’s not too bad from Amazon, but it still ranks up there with how much I normally spend per meal. And to me, a meal shouldn’t cost less than a snack.

High Level of Protein

Quest Protein Cookie

As the packaging says, it’s a “protein” cookie. With 16g of protein at the ready, it works great for a myriad of purposes, whether you’re on a specific diet or working out.

It’s probably one of the higher snacks in terms of protein that I’ve had in a while. Well, outside of beef jerky or my morning protein shakes.

Still, it’s something to consider if you’re looking for high protein and low-carb alternatives.

Good Nutritional Level for Specific Diets

OK, let’s take a quick look at the nutrition of the Quest peanut butter chocolate chip cookie:

  • 13g of Total Fat
  • 15mg Cholesterol
  • 230mg of Sodium
  • 21g Total Carbs (5g if you’re counting net carbs)
  • 16g of Protein
  • 140mg of Calcium
  • 140mg of Potassium
  • 0.6mg of Iron

From the quick breakdown, you can see that this product does a fairly good job at addressing certain diet plans. Whether you’re reducing sodium, watching your cholesterol, or pushing through with the keto diet, Quest has you covered.

Where Can You Find the Quest Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie?

I recently picked up a package of four from the nearby King Soopers. Though, I have seen them at Walmart and other grocery stores.

Quest is a semi-popular line, so their products should be in a variety of health food locations. For instance, I’ve seen Quest products at the local Max Muscle.

However, they are a lot cheaper if you go through Amazon in most instances. Then again, just about everything is cheaper on Amazon.

And yes, I do earn a commission of the sale if you use the button above. But I’m telling ya, it’s WAY cheaper per unit.

Would I Use the Product Again?

So far, I don’t think there’s a Quest product line that I don’t like. You can definitely taste the sugar alternative, but it’s not overly bearing when you’re looking for a keto treat.

In fact, I like them so much that I’m working on my third box of the cookies over the past couple of weeks.

Since each one is individually packaged, it’s easy to toss one in my gym bag if I need a snack while working out. And like I said, it helps with those midnight cravings when I start to feel snacky.

Though, I am still working on trying not to have any carbs after 8 pm.

Because they are a bit more expensive than I’d like, I try not to tap them too often. But, it’s something you’ll see in my kitchen on a regular basis.

Keeping an Eye Out for Healthy-ish Snacks

I’m always looking for new and tasty treats that give me what I want without the hefty price of carbs and calories. And although I think the Quest peanut butter chocolate chip cookie is a bit spendy for my budget, they are well worth the expense.

Otherwise, I wouldn’t keep buying them.

If you know of any alternatives I should try, let me know in the comments. I’m always looking for new ways to snack without packing on the pounds.

  1. Yeah, these look familiar. My son loves the Quest cookies and bars too. Not for weight loss, but for the extra protein, since he’s working on gaining muscle. He tried several brands, but most of them either had too much sugar or tasted like dirt.

Let me know what you think...
